Job Description
Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Foster Home Developer to join our team. This position is responsible for recruiting, training, certifying, and supporting foster and adoptive families to expand and strengthen our foster care network. The Foster Home Developer will coordinate and oversee training for both prospective and current foster families while building strong relationships with community partners and caregivers. This role plays a vital part in ensuring children receive safe, stable, and nurturing home environments and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in child welfare services. Duties Recruit, assess, and support prospective foster and adoptive families throughout the licensing and certification process. Coordinate and facilitate pre-service and ongoing training for foster families in compliance with agency and state requirements. Maintain regular communication and supportive relationships with foster families to promote retention and placement stability. Conduct home visits, interviews, and documentation reviews to ensure compliance with licensing standards and agency policies. Collaborate with case managers, community partners, and referral sources to identify placement resources and meet the needs of children in care. Maintain accurate and timely records, reports, and licensing documentation within agency systems. Participate in community outreach, recruitment events, and partnership-building activities to expand foster home capacity and awareness of foster care services. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field preferred. Minimum of one to two years of experience in child welfare, foster care, case management, or family services preferred. Knowledge of foster care licensing requirements, child welfare practices, and applicable state regulations preferred. Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage diverse families and community partners. Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate documentation, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience facilitating trainings, presentations, or community outreach activities preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic case management systems. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel locally for home visits, trainings, and recruitment activities. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professionalism, sound judgment, and cultural sensitivity when working with children and families.
