Under the direct supervision of the Principal and the CTE Director, the role of the Work-based Learning coordinator was established to oversee the coordination of the CTE internship program at Deseret Peak High School, facilitate various career exploration events and CTE events for students, and organize theDPHS CTE
pathway completer for the school.Essential Job Functions:
Administers the CTE internship program at the high school. Provide work-based learning experiences for students. Organize and maintain recordkeeping for all student internship positions. Conduct site inspections and make sure that interns are in compliance with all pertinent laws and regulations. Build relationships with local businesses and the local chamber of commerce to help connect students with valuable workplace experiences in the Tooele Valley. Participate in meetings, professional developments, and other training for the purpose of providing high-quality internships for students. Help execute CTE programs that help students explore different CTE pathways and future careers. This includes but is not limited to field trips, guest speakers, region events, and CTE competitions. This would include organizing different CTE outreach events at local elementary and junior highs. Organize a school CTE pathway recognition night for Tooele High. Serve as a resource for students, parents, and staff on CTE pathways and work-based learning opportunities available at Deseret Peak High School.NOTE:

Perform any other related duties as assigned.Necessary knowledge and skills:
Strong communication skills. Be able to communicate effectively with students and parents. Work independently but be part of a school and district team. Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate work. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information regarding students, employees, work site partners, and others. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, parents, and industry partners. Ability to use computers and software applications as needed. Work environment : Works in a standard office and school building environmentQualifications:
Must be a minimum of 21 years old or older Must have a High school diploma. College coursework is preferred.Contract:
