Job Description

Group Supported Employment Team Lead
  • EAC•Norfolk, VA•Enjoy a rewarding and challenging position with a nonprofit organization that has been helping educate, train, and provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities since 1955.
We are currently seeking applicants for a full-time Team Lead who can assist with the daily operation of Eggelston's Automotive Center. Supervises and provides vocational training to employees with disabilities as part of the Group Supported Employment (GSE) program and maintains a safe work environment. Work schedule may include weekends, holidays, and evenings Applicants must have the ability to work Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Auction Saturdays
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities represent the essential functions of this job that an individual must be able to perform with or without a reasonable accommodation: Assists in the development, implementation, and review of individualized service plans to improve and enhance social and vocational skills, including weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly evaluations of all plans, and completing performance evaluations Communicates and collaborates internally with the GSE Program Manager and others as needed for the purpose of developing and implementing individual employee training plans, coordinating programming, and/or disseminating information Complete timely and accurate documentation of training and work activities in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards Improves and maintains the cleanliness of vehicles by removing trash and other items; shampooing, cleaning, and vacuuming the interior to include the carpet, upholstery, and windows; washing and waxing the exterior May assist with routine vehicle maintenance, such as installing batteries or checking fluids Follows all procedures and safety regulations and promptly reports accidents, critical incidents, and injuries Attend team meetings, trainings, and workshops as required to maintain valid certification in CPR, first aid, behavior management, crisis intervention, and defensive driving Other duties as assigned Local travel using personal or program vehicle, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE
The following qualifications represent the training, education, certifications, licensures, and/or work experience required to perform the essential duties and responsibilities successfully: High school diploma, GED, or any combination of equivalent education and experience Experience working on automobiles preferred General knowledge of a broad range of disabilities, including developmental disabilities, substance abuse, mental health, and physical or sensory disabilities, and best practices to support employment of individuals with disabilities Ability to conduct 1-on-1 or group training Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships Clearance through criminal background investigation and pre-employment drug screening is required Acceptable driving record required Effective use of technology and information systems, including, but not limited to, Microsoft 365 PHYSICAL
DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical demands: Performing the duties of this job requires near visual acuity, the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds, and gross manipulation. Additionally, the employee: Must be free of tuberculosis in a communicable form Must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and withstand prolonged hours of standing Must be able to able to bend through a full range of motion, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work in a warehouse setting, with exposure to dust and other potential allergens. Must be able to withstand extreme fluctuations of temperature and noise levels.
