Employment Specialist

Primary Duties:

• Provide 1:1 job coaching services to people with disabilities throughout Whatcom County
• Develop and secure employment in the community for people with disabilities
• Set, implement, and track progress on client goals
• Collaborate effectively with multiple parties in client support network
• Documentation and file maintenance

Schedule:

We are hiring for a full-time position! Monday-Friday availability required, 40 hours per week. Schedule may vary depending on client need though most work happens during regular business hours. Most work occurs in the community and in our Bellingham office.

Compensation:

Salary is competitive and depends on qualifications and experience. Entry-level pay is $24.00/hr. with annual pay increases based on individual and organizational performance.

Required Qualifications:

Ability and desire to work with people of all abilities High school diploma Proficiency in MS office applications Ability to work both remotely and in the community Valid Washington State Driver's License and proof of vehicle liability insurance in the minimum following amounts: $100,000 per person; $300,000 per accident; $100,000 property Good driving record Ability to complete background investigation, and current First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of the onset of employment. Due to driving requirements must be at least 21 years old.

Desirable Qualifications:

One year experience working with individuals with disabilities within employment settings or another comparable field Fluent in either American Sign Language or Spanish Bachelor's degree in human services, social work, or a related field (including fields specific to disability services)
