  • Full-time Life Skills Consultant (Standalone Services): Pacific Northwest Roots Behavior Therapy & Counseling is seeking motivated and reliable providers to deliver ongoing Standalone Life Skills Services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD).
This role focuses on long-term, consistent support that helps individuals build practical skills, increase independence, and improve overall quality of life. Services are provided in home and community settings and are tailored to each individual's unique needs and goals. Position Overview Life Skills Consultants provide structured, person-centered services on a consistent schedule. This position emphasizes relationship-building, skill development, and steady progress over time through individualized support and community-based teaching. Key Responsibilities Provide consistent, scheduled sessions in home and community settings Support individuals in developing adaptive, communication, and independent living skills Teach and reinforce functional life skills using person-centered and trauma-informed approaches Assist individuals in building routines, increasing independence, and participating in their communities Collaborate with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members Track progress toward individualized goals and follow supervisory guidance Complete accurate and timely documentation Participate in supervision, training, and ongoing team communication Core Areas of Service (Specialized Habilitation) Services may focus on: Self-Empowerment & Self-Advocacy Building confidence, communication, choice-making, and self-expression skills Safety Awareness & Self-Preservation Understanding boundaries, recognizing unsafe situations, and seeking support when needed Interpersonal Effectiveness & Relationship Building Developing social skills, communication strategies, and positive interactions Managing Daily Life & Independence Building routines, organization, daily living skills, and personal responsibility Community Navigation & Integration Accessing community resources, participating in activities, and increasing community involvement Service Settings Services may be provided in: Client homes Assisted living and group homes Long-term care environments Community-based settings Physical Requirements Ability to safely navigate community and home environments Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout sessions as needed Ability to transport and carry basic materials or supplies used during sessions Ability to respond appropriately and safely in fast-paced or emotionally heightened situations Ability to maintain awareness of surroundings and support client safety in community settings Ability to travel between client locations as required Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance Education & Experience Qualifications Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, social work, education, child development, or a related field required Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (ID/DD) preferred Experience providing community-based, in-home, or skills-based support services is preferred Additional Requirements Must successfully complete and maintain all required background checks, including fingerprint-based background clearance Must maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with all agency and DDCS requirements Must participate in required onboarding, training, supervision, and ongoing professional development Compensation for
