Salary listed is inclusive of 5% King County Pay Premium and 5% dual language premium Step M at $88,902 is attainable for those who have 6 consecutive years working in a WA State institution The Center for Education and Career Opportunities (CECO) Program serves 16-21-year-olds who withdrew from high school without completing their diploma and supports them with re-engaging in academic activities including earning their GEDs, pursuing short-term certificates and ultimately a Professional/Technical or AA Transfer Degree. CECO provides tuition and all fees for program participants. Under the supervision of the Dean of Enrollment and Access, the
CECO ELL
(English Language Learning) Navigator is responsible for recruiting, enrolling, guiding, and communicating between Shoreline's ELL Program and CECO to ensure that services, policies, and procedures align, while providing wraparound support for all
CECO ELL
students as they navigate through the ABE (Adult Basic Education)/ELL program and into other career and college pathways.
Primary responsibilities include the following:
Developing recruitment strategies and key resources for potential and enrolled
CECO ELL
students in alignment with Shoreline College and King County direction. Building and maintaining community partnerships to broaden recruitment opportunities. Developing, implementing, and tracking case management model for
CECO ELL
students. Supporting student connection to CECO academic pathways and college resources. Coordinating wrap-around support and services targeted at recruitment and retention for specialized
CECO ELL
student needs. Developing and implementing data tracking mechanisms to track program effectiveness. Providing administrative support for bridging CECO with our Transitional Studies Program.
Qualifications Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, AND Two (2) years of experience including planning, policy analysis, coordination/consultation with public and private agencies, organizations, and/or levels of government, OR equivalent education/experience. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in both English and Spanish.
Knowledge Of:
Needs for target audiences including Youth Re-Engagement, Adult Education, and Basic Skills State-wide trends and funding processes within Open Doors Programming. Budget tracking, and fiscal management to achieve goals within assigned funding. CRM systems, grant reporting databases, and Microsoft Office Suite products. Collecting, organizing, and managing client/student/program data for the purpose of informing strategic decisions.
Skill In:
Fostering a climate of belonging through awareness and responsiveness Facilitating meetings and planning sessions amongst multiple stakeholders Time management, organization, and ability to meet competing deadlines/priorities Entering and/or retrieving data accurately in computerized record keeping systems Handling difficult and sensitive situations, using sound independent judgment within college & legal guidelines Providing additional resources and support for a diverse range of student levels and needs Writing/editing/proofreading clear and concise materials resulting in effective oral and written communication with individuals inside and/or outside of the College Establishing/maintaining effective working relationships at all organizational levels Ability to work with a diverse group of students, staff, and the public in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner or independently as needed. Conditions of Employment Physical Work Environment:
The College provides services both online and in-person. This position will perform work in a standard office setting, use standard office equipment and physically attend meetings both on and off campus. Please note, there may be limited opportunities for online work depending on program or area needs. If authorized for online work, employees will need to provide their own workspace and internet access, noting the College will provide technical equipment and support for online work needs. This position requires regular travel to off-campus sites.
Terms Of Employment/Salary:
This position is allocated to pay range 53, under the Washington State Office of Financial Management higher education salary schedule. Salary placement for new employees is determined by the College. This position works 40 hours per week, with a schedule dependent upon department needs. Hiring of this position is contingent on available funding as determined by the College President.
