Para Educator•Level IREPORTS TO:
Building PrincipalDESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Provide small group instruction to at-risk students. Supervise students during recess and lunch times.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma Associate of Arts Degree, 2 years of college credits or Para Educator PraxisESSENTIALS FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary and without notice. Depending upon individual assignments, the office aide will perform all or a combination of several of the following duties: Ability to maintain a student centered, organized positive climate Ability to read, write and communicate effectively Communicate and respond effectively and in a friendly, professional manner with students, parents, community members, and school personnel. Ability to accept responsibility and take direction Work collaboratively and collegially. Comply with district rules and regulations. Conduct all work in a safe manner as specified by district rules. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Ability to plan, instruct, and supervise secondary age students Ability to work one-on-one or in a small group with highly at-risk middle/high school students. Ability to provide support, assistance and give specific instruction under the direction of a certified teacher. Skilled at record keeping and computers. Monitor students both in and out the classroom.DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Valid First Aid/CPR/AED card or ability to attain one Fingerprinting (paid by employee) Proof of Immunization (if born 1-1-57 or later) I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigration Reform Act HIV/HBV Training (district provided) Sexual Harassment Training (district provided)TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
