Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Support Specialist to provide training, ongoing support, and advocacy for adults with barriers to employment. In this role, you will empower individuals to succeed in integrated work environments, maintain stable housing, and actively participate in their communities. Key Responsibilities Participant Support & Training Provide individualized, one-on-one job coaching and on-site support based on participant service plans Orient new participants to work sites and community settings Teach self-management and independent living skills Deliver transportation and mobility training to support community access Program Implementation Develop, implement, and adjust training plans to meet participant goals Conduct task analyses and identify effective learning strategies Train participants in job duties using safe, efficient, and structured techniques Assist with tasks when necessary until accommodations are established Collaboration & Advocacy Work with employers, supervisors, and coworkers to support workplace inclusion Recommend job modifications, restructuring, or accommodations Educate community members and employers on supporting individuals with disabilities Promote independence by gradually transitioning support to natural workplace supports Monitoring & Documentation Track and document participant progress (case notes, logs, evaluations) Monitor service plans and recommend adjustments as needed Participate in team meetings and communicate updates to the Service Delivery Team Maintain accurate and timely reports and documentation Additional Duties Advocate for participant rights and inclusion in the community Assist with tours, attendance tracking, and program support activities Maintain consistent communication with
Case Managers Qualifications Knowledge of:
Developmental disabilities, mental illness, and/or traumatic brain injuries Behavior modification and training techniques Job and workplace accommodations Community resources and employment programs
Skills & Abilities:
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) Ability to assess strengths and match individuals to employment opportunities Effective problem-solving and independent decision-making Experience documenting service delivery and progress notes Ability to transport participants using personal or company vehicles Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED (required) At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with disabilities (preferred) Experience in industrial or service-related work (preferred) Certifications & Requirements Valid Washington State Driver's License Proof of auto insurance Ability to pass background check and drug screening First Aid/CPR certification (preferred) Physical Requirements Ability to perform medium work (lifting up to 25 lbs occasionally) Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching Work in a variety of settings (office, community, indoor/outdoor job sites) Work Environment Combination of office, community, and job site settings Use of computers, phones, company vehicles, and training equipment Collaboration with participants, employers, and interdisciplinary teams Drug-Free Workplace Notification Entrust Community Services is committed to maintaining a safe and drug-free workplace.
