Full Job Description Position Summary :
Grace House is a Christian nonprofit dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing home environment for girls in foster care. The Resident Assistant serves as a positive role model, mentor, and caregiver, helping residents build life skills, achieve educational goals, and grow in faith. This role includes ensuring a safe and supportive living environment, guiding daily routines, and assisting with activities that promote personal, spiritual, and academic development. The Resident Assistant works closely with the Missionary Mom to maintain a structured, caring home and to support each girl's journey toward healing, independence, and hope for a bright future. Key Responsibilities Model Christ-like behavior and provide spiritual mentorship to residents Lead daily devotionals and facilitate church attendance and faith-based activities Create an environment where girls feel safe to explore and express their faith Build positive, trust-based relationships with residents, serving as a role model of integrity, compassion, and faith. Provide emotional support and encouragement, guiding residents in life skills, academic goals, and spiritual growth. Supervise residents at all times, ensuring safety both at home and during off-site activities. Ensure each girl has adequate, seasonally appropriate clothing and footwear. Safeguard the physical and personal privacy of each girl, protecting them from inappropriate actions by others. Maintain residents' confidentiality at all times in accordance with DHR standards and organizational policy. Assist with meal preparation, grocery shopping, and maintaining a clean and organized home. Support residents with homework, appointments, chores, and recreational activities. Provide transportation for residents to school, church, medical appointments, and approved activities. Collaborate with the Youth Program Team to develop effective disciplinary procedures and behavior modification strategies. Implement discipline and behavior modification techniques in alignment with established policies and procedures Maintain compliance with all DHR (Department of Human Resources) licensing standards, policies, and procedures Accurately complete documentation such as daily logs, incident reports, medication records, and behavioral notes Maintain confidentiality of all resident information in accordance with
HIPAA, DHR
regulations, and organizations policy Participate in inspections, audits, and required trainings as mandated by DHR and the organization Communicate effectively with Missionary Moms, other staff, and supervisors regarding residents' needs and progress. Check and respond to work emails regularly. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and planning sessions Assist with welcoming and showing hospitality to guests and visitors. Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification as required by state and agency standards Promote and uphold a safe and secure environment within the home for all residents and staff Administer basic first aid when necessary and follow emergency procedures appropriately Participate in safety drills and training as scheduled Ensure all medications are secured and administered according to policy Immediately report any incidents or concerns to appropriate staff and follow incident reporting procedures
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred Experience working with youth, preferably in foster care, residential, or ministry settings Must be at least 25 years of age Strong commitment to Christian faith and willingness to lead youth in spiritual development Ability to pass all background checks and complete required DHR and agency trainings Strong interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly Range $15.00 - $18.00 (commensurate with experience) Health benefits, paid time off, and professional development support
