Job Description

Overview The Direct Care Worker plays a vital role in providing compassionate support and assistance to individuals with diverse needs, including those with autism and other developmental disabilities. This position requires a dedicated individual who is committed to enhancing the quality of life for residents through personalized care and support. The Direct Care Worker will work closely with clients to implement care plans, promote resident rights, and ensure that all aspects of patient care are met with dignity and respect. Duties Assist clients in daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's unique needs and preferences. Provide direct support to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities, fostering independence and self-sufficiency. Monitor client behavior and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate case management personnel. Ensure compliance with resident rights and advocate for the needs of clients within the care system. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities, progress notes, and incident reports as required. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to coordinate comprehensive care for residents. Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in direct support and patient care. Qualifications Experience or training in direct support or caregiving is preferred but not required. Knowledge of care plans, medication administration, and resident rights is highly desirable. Familiarity with case management systems and practices related to patient care. Ability to work effectively with individuals with autism or similar developmental challenges. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact positively with clients and team members. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life. Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate the needs of clients, including potential evening or weekend shifts. This role is essential for fostering a supportive environment where individuals can thrive while receiving the necessary assistance tailored to their specific circumstances.
