Direct Care Provider/Caregiver

Queen Creek, AZ 85142 Posted about 3 hours New Harmony Compassionate Care strives to offer exceptional home care and community-based services to individuals and families in Arizona. We are looking for individuals to provide quality care to children and adults with developmental disabilities. As a Direct Care Worker, you will provide the care needed to assist our clients in living a more independent life in the community. Our clients' needs may vary, but making a positive impact will leave you feeling fulfilled. The hours needed may also vary, and you may have the flexibility to work as few or as many shifts as desired. Responsibilities This position requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others.
  • Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities in daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, dressing, feeding, and medication management
  • Assist clients with mobility and physical tasks, including heavy lifting when necessary
  • Support clients in developing life skills and achieving personal goals
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks
  • Provide transportation for appointments and errands
  • Facilitate recreational activities and outings
  • Teach basic independent living skills to foster self-reliance
  • Provide first aid when required and respond appropriately to emergencies
  • Offer care services to clients in their home setting and at other locations
  • Measure and document clients' daily progress with goals/achievements as well as any behavioral challenges
Beneficial Skills:
  • Experience working in home care one on one settings
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues
  • Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to client care and support
  • Developmental disability experience required
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Be 18+ years of age
  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED
  • Demonstrate skills, knowledge, and relevant experience
  • MUST PASS AZ DPS
    Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance application (State of Arizona requirement)
  • MUST PASS AZ DPS
    Central Registry Background Check (State of Arizona requirement)
  • First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • Article 9 Certificate
  • Prevention & Support Certificate
  • Be willing to complete Direct Care Worker (DCW) training within 90 days of employment for Attendant Care/Habilitation Workers
  • Submit a notarized Criminal History Self-Disclosure Statement
  • Hold a clean, valid driver's license
  • Ability to self-transport to and from client locations
  • 1-2 years of experience desired but not required
