Through our Supported Living Services (SLS) program, we provide personalized support that empowers adults to maintain their independence while receiving the assistance they need in their daily lives. Our Personal Attendants play a vital role in helping individuals develop life skills, participate in their communities, and achieve greater independence. We focus on person-centered support, respect, and dignity for every individual we serve. Job Summary Bright Horizon Inc. is currently hiring Personal Attendants to support adults with developmental disabilities in Contra Costa County . Our services are flexible and provide focus and emphasis on matters related to the specific needs of each individual in her/his effort toward independent living. Areas typically covered include nutrition, safety awareness, community integration and advocating with medical, housing, and other personal issues. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensure the rights of individuals with developmental disabilities at all times. Support clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance Monitor clients' health by medication administration, and overall patient care routines Assist with meal preparation, cooking, and maintaining a clean, safe living environment in accordance with health standards Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs, including dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or developmental disabilities care Use proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts for safe transfers and heavy lifting when necessary Maintain accurate documentation of clients observations, care activities, and incident reports while adhering to HIPAA regulations Engage residents in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and mental well-being Physical Requirements With or without reasonable accommodation, the physical and mental requirement of this job may include, but are not limited to, the following: Ability to operate a motor vehicle according to California laws and regulations Ability to reach with hands and arms, pushing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, frequent sitting, standing, and walking may be required for long periods of time May require running, climbing stairs, walking up inclines, or on uneven terrain Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and perform a two-person transport position and the team control position for individuals exhibiting behavioral episodes that threaten the safety and welfare of self or others Visual acuity required for the use of computers and reading materials Ability to hear, speak, and write clearly Skills Proven experience in assisted living and home health. Familiarity with medication administration and care planning processes Ability to perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and meal preparation efficiently. Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards Excellent communication skills to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments such as dementia or autism. Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
