Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Resident Aide, where your compassionate care and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents in a long-term care. In this vital role, you will provide personalized support to residents, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Your energetic and proactive approach will help create a warm, supportive community where residents feel valued and cared for every day. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while making a positive impact on individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, those with disabilities, or individuals living with dementia or Alzheimer's. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor and record vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents' health status is maintained. Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication activities using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques. Support residents' nutritional needs by preparing meals that meet dietary guidelines and assisting during mealtime to promote independence. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties, including cleaning resident areas and shared spaces. Engage residents in social activities and offer companionship to foster a lively, supportive community atmosphere. Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and report any changes in residents' conditions promptly. Requirements Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or home & community care is highly preferred. Knowledge of first aid procedures and CPR certification is advantageous. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia is beneficial. Ability to assist with ADLs and operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts safely. Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation purposes. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members. Valid driver's license for driving responsibilities related to resident outings or appointments is a plus.
