Waking Nights £14.00Contract Three x36 Hours on Waking Nights 8pm-8am and weekend daysWe are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and adaptable Support Worker who is enthusiastic about making a genuine difference in people's lives. This is a rewarding opportunity to support a young child within a warm and family-oriented home environment. You will be supporting a 6-year-old boy who lives at home with his mum, dad, and older siblings. You will play a key role in supporting his daily care and routine.

He has a tracheostomy and requires ventilatory support, as well as a diagnosis of epilepsy. He also has a large exomphalos, meaning some of his internal organs are located outside of his abdominal cavity. He is mobile, although he occasionally uses a chair, and he attends school regularly. In many ways, he is a typical 6-year-old boy. He is NG tube fed, requires continence care, and wears pads.

He communicates well, has a strong personality, and enjoys attention.

ResponsibilitiesProvide high-quality, person-centred care within the home environment.

Support with tracheostomy care and ventilatory support.

Assist with NG feeding and nutrition.

Monitor and manage epilepsy and seizure activity.

Provide personal care and continence support.

Support with mobility and positioning.

Encourage engagement in play, learning, and daily activities.

Work collaboratively with the family and professionals to ensure consistent care.

Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.

Experience and Skills of a Support WorkerPrevious experience in paediatric or complex care is highly desirable.

Knowledge of tracheostomy care, ventilation, and NG feeding (or willingness to train)Experience supporting individuals with epilepsy.

Compassionate, patient, and reliable approachAbility to build positive relationships with children and families.

Confident managing behaviours and promoting a positive environment.
