Residential Care Facility- Caregiver (Weekend availability required)(part time only) AAA Residential Elderly Retreat Bakersfield, CA Job Details Part-time From $16.90 an hour 2 hours ago Qualifications Spanish Caregiving First aid CPR Medication pass administration High school diploma or GED Driver's License First Aid Certification Meal preparation Food preparation Bathing assistance Full Job Description AAA Residential Elder Retreat is looking to hire professional, skilled, and caring individuals to provide supervision and assistance to elder adults aged 60. At the present time AAA Residential is looking to hire experienced caregivers. All shifts available. New hires willing/ able to work a 10 or 12 hour shift is highly desirable. Caregiver duties typically include the following:
  • Help clients in their daily personal tasks, such as bathing, incontinent care, or dressing
  • Assist clients with medication administration
  • Do light housekeeping, such as laundry, washing dishes, and vacuuming
  • Provide transportation to doctors' offices or for other kinds of outings
  • Prepare meals to a client's dietary specifications
  • Assist with activities.
Caregivers, unlike personal care aides, typically work for licensed residential care facility, home health, or hospice agencies that receive government funding and therefore must comply with regulations. They work under the direct supervision of a certified administrator. Caregivers keep records of services performed and of clients' conditions and progress. They report changes in clients' conditions to supervisors or case managers. Caregivers also work with therapists and other medical staff. Depending on their clients' needs, Categivers may provide some basic health-related services, such as checking a client's pulse, temperature, and blood pressure. They may also help with simple prescribed exercises and with giving medications. Occasionally, they change bandages or dressings, give massages, care for skin, complete range of motion exercises with a resident, or help with braces and artificial limbs. All caregivers with AAA must be able to assist clients with transfers (one and two person assists) and be trained in first aide and cpr. Work experience with dementia or individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury is highly desirable.
