The Support Staff position plays a vital role in this mission by ensuring the health and safety of those we serve, AIMES' top priority—while assisting individuals in building independence, engaging in daily living activities, and integrating into the community. This role requires patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to promoting dignity, self-confidence, and personal growth. Support Staff report directly to the Lead Staff or Supervisor and are essential in fostering a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for every individual.

Full Time Essential Duties and Responsibilities The responsibilities outlined below represent the primary duties of the role; however, this job description is not all inclusive, additional tasks may be assigned at House Lead or Field Supervisor discretion or as needed to support operational needs: Health and Safety
  • Prioritize and ensure the health and safety of all individuals served.
  • Report any incidents, behaviors, injuries, or suspected abuse or neglect immediately to the Lead Staff or Supervisor. Direct Care & Personal Support
  • Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) , including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and other hygiene needs.
  • Support individuals in meal planning, preparation, and household chores to promote independent living skills.
  • Transport and Accompany individuals to medical and dental appointments, ensuring follow-through and support during visits. Skill Development & Training
  • Implement individualized objectives and behavior plans as outlined in each individual's Individual Program Plan and Individuals Service Plan (IPP/ISP) .
  • Assist individuals with tasks that develop independence, self-esteem, and social skills.
  • Teach and support individuals in using public transportation and engaging in community integration activities. Documentation & Reporting
  • Complete accurate daily charting notes and maintain proper documentation of services provided.
  • Write quarterly progress notes and submit them on time.
  • Ensure timecards are accurate and submitted promptly.
  • Safeguard all confidential information about individuals in compliance with privacy requirements. Professionalism & Role Modeling
  • Present yourself professionally at all times, acting as a positive role model for individuals both at home and in the community.
  • Attend and actively participate in mandatory monthly in-service meetings and contact meetings with Supervisors. Activity Support & Scheduling
  • Follow scheduled activities and assist in planning and implementing engaging, appropriate daily and community activities.
  • Help individuals follow structured routines while also adapting plans to meet individual needs and goals. Skills and Competencies
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and compassion in providing care and support.
  • Ability to be patient and have a capacity to work with very difficult behaviors.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, team members, and supervisors.
  • Ability to follow behavior plans, training protocols, and established policies and procedures.
  • The ability to remain calm while working with challenging behaviors.
  • Capacity to build positive relationships and provide compassionate, person-centered support.
  • Organizational skills to complete documentation accurately and on time.
  • Commitment to fostering independence, dignity, and respect for all individuals served. Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age .
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities preferred (training provided if no prior experience).
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
  • Must possess a v
  • _ alid California drivers license
  • _ in good standing and have access to a reliable personal vehicle, suitable for transporting clients.
  • Must maintain current automobile insurance that meets California minimum requirements.
  • Must pass background check, TB/health screening, and obtain CPR/First Aid certification .
Work Environment This position involves working in individuals' homes, within the community, and at times in office or program settings. Support Staff must be comfortable assisting with physical tasks, working flexible hours, and supporting individuals in various environments. AIMES Consulting, Inc., is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
