Direct Care Staff

This position is perfect for someone who is passionate about promoting growth and a meaningful life for individuals with developmental disabilities. This is an on-site position in a residential home that houses up to 6 individuals. The goal of the Direct Care Staff is to support and assist the clients with personal care and activities of daily living in a manner that empowers, maximizes personal growth, and independence.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Assist clients with daily living skills, such as grooming, bathing, dressing, etc. Perform light household responsibilities, such as cooking and cleaning. Drive client's to and from doctor's appointments, scheduled community outings, and other locations using the company van. Chart on client progress on goals, health, and daily activity. Perform health-care related tasks including but not limited to taking client vitals and passing medication.

SKILLS YOU NEED TO BE CONSIDERED

Ability to communicate efficiently with staff and consumers Good oral and written communication skills Basic computer skills

WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT IF SELECTED

The Administrator of the facility will reach out to set up an in-person interview. You will be asked to fill out Independent Option's employment application.

WHAT TO EXPECT IF YOU ARE HIRED

Participate in a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and receive tuberculosis (TB) clearance Participate in a criminal history background check through the Department of Justice and receive clearance Attend a paid, three-day New Hire Orientation training at our corporate office located in Corona Become certified in: CPR, AED, and First Aid | Medication Administration | CPI's Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training

• These trainings are paid for and provided throughout employment.
