$25/hour About the Position Homewatch CareGivers of Los Altos is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and proactive caregiver to support a wonderful couple in Cupertino. This is more than a caregiving position—you'll become a trusted companion, personal assistant, and an important part of helping our clients maintain their independence while continuing to live safely and comfortably in their own home. Responsibilities Provide companionship and emotional support. Assist with meal preparation based on the client's preferences. Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, wiping kitchen counters, and tidying common living areas. Provide medication reminders and report any missed doses or concerns. Observe and promptly report changes in physical condition, memory, mood, appetite, mobility, sleep patterns, or daily routines. Accompany clients on errands, appointments, and outings while encouraging their independence. Assist with basic technology tasks when needed. Help care for the family's cat when requested. Dementia Care One client is living with dementia.

The ideal caregiver will:

Communicate calmly, patiently, and respectfully. Encourage independence while providing support only when needed. Redirect gently if the client becomes confused. Create a safe, positive, and reassuring environment. Treat each client with dignity, kindness, and compassion. Required Qualifications A minimum of 1 year of professional caregiving experience is required. Must have an active California Home Care Aide (HCA) registration. Must have a valid California driver's license, a reliable vehicle, and be comfortable driving as part of the job. Experience caring for seniors with dementia is strongly preferred.
