She currently lives in an independent care facility where she has meals and social activities. She has moderate dementia and uses a walker. We seek someone with a sunny personality, who is creative in creating engagement with seniors like mom. You will play a vital role in enhancing mom's quality of life. Responsibilities Assist with any required Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), which today includes showering, and some mobility assistance Monitor and observe mom's conditions, noting any changes in health status or behavior Administer medications and check vitals according to healthcare provider instructions Saturday and Sundays do not include dinner, and thus may require some light meal prep. If required, take mom to Physical Therapy or doctor's appointments Encourage and guide daily exercises for health and fitness Provide emotional support, companionship, and engagement/activities. Being, kind, patient, loving and engaging goes such a long way for health and happiness. Requirements Prior caregiving experience in home care, or assisted living is required. Minimum 3 years experience. Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are highly desirable Strong observational skills for client monitoring and reporting changes in condition Compassionate and patient; Experience working with individuals with dementia or memory care needs Good driving record Updated background check
