Part-Time Friday/Saturday NOC Lead Position Summary The Lead Direct Support Professional (LDSP) provides direct care, supervision, leadership, and support to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and residents within the residential care facility. The LDSP assists with implementation of resident care plans, behavioral support programs, daily operations, staff guidance, and regulatory compliance while ensuring the health, safety, dignity, and well-being of residents served. This position works closely with management to support residential operations, oversee shift activities, assist with staff training and monitoring, and ensure compliance with Title 17, Title 22, company policies, and applicable regulations. The LDSP position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable law. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and support Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) during assigned shifts to ensure quality resident care and compliance with facility procedures and resident programming.
- Provide direct care assistance to residents with activities of daily living including hygiene, grooming, bathing, toileting, dressing, feeding, mobility, behavioral support, and personal care needs.
- Assist with implementation of resident Individual Program Plans (IPP), Individual Behavior Support Plans (IBSP), Individualized Emergency Intervention Plans (IEIP), Health Care Plans, and related resident programming.
- Monitor resident physical condition, behavioral status, emotional well-being, and overall safety and promptly report concerns, incidents, or changes in condition to management.
- Assist residents with medication self-administration in accordance with company policy, physician instructions, and applicable regulations.
- Provide supervision and support during community outings, recreational activities, transportation, appointments, and daily programming activities.
- Transport residents to medical appointments, community activities, recreational outings, and other approved activities using company vehicles as needed.
- Maintain a valid California driver's license, acceptable driving record, and eligibility to drive under the company's insurance requirements.
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures related to resident transportation and vehicle operation.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, behavioral incidents, fire safety procedures, evacuations, medical emergencies, and other crisis situations.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and organized facility environment, including reporting maintenance or safety concerns as needed.
- Complete and maintain accurate documentation, incident reports, medication records, behavioral data collection, resident files, and required program records in compliance with Title 17, Title 22, and company requirements.
- Safeguard resident Personal and Incidental (P&I) funds and ensure related documentation and records are accurate.
- Assist with staff guidance, coaching, training reinforcement, fidelity checks, and monitoring of staff performance related to resident programming and behavioral support implementation.
- Promote resident rights, dignity, confidentiality, person-centered practices, and respectful communication with residents, families, staff, consultants, and outside agencies.
- Comply with all mandated reporting obligations and immediately report suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, or other reportable incidents in accordance with California law and company policy.
- Attend and complete all required trainings, certifications, continuing education, staff meetings, and competency requirements.
- Follow directives from management and perform additional job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned consistent with operational needs.
- Provide operational support and fill in for DSP responsibilities as needed to maintain resident care and staffing coverage.
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience required for the position. Preferred candidates will possess the following:
- Must be at least 21 years of age in accordance with applicable Title 22 licensing requirements.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must obtain and maintain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within required timelines, or possess qualifying licensure/certification as a QBMP or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT).
- Minimum six (6) months of experience providing direct care services to individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors preferred.
- DSP 1 and DSP 2 certification required or ability to obtain certification within required timelines.
- Successful completion of non-physical crisis intervention training required.
- Knowledge of Title 17, Title 22, behavioral support programming, resident rights, and residential care operations preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to supervise and support staff while maintaining professionalism and sound judgment in a residential care environment.
- Successful completion of DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance, health screening, and TB clearance required.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Valid California driver's license with acceptable driving record and eligibility to drive under the company's insurance requirements required.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.

- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in a variety of residential, clinical, community-based, and transportation environments.
- Frequent direct interaction with residents who may exhibit challenging behaviors, including but not limited to verbal aggression, physical aggression, self-injurious behaviors, PICA behaviors, elopement risk, and other behaviors requiring intervention, redirection, supervision, and crisis response.
- Ability to safely respond to emergencies, behavioral incidents, resident care needs, evacuations, and crisis situations in accordance with company policy, training, and licensing requirements.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, medication administration environments, cleaning chemicals, and other conditions common to healthcare and residential care settings.
- Ability to safely operate company or personal vehicles for resident transportation, community outings, appointments, and other assigned duties as required by the position.
- Employees are required to use approved personal protective equipment (PPE), follow infection control procedures, and implement behavioral intervention techniques consistent with company policy, Title 17, Title 22, Cal/OSHA requirements, and other applicable laws and regulations.
