Job Description

Entry-Level Direct Support Professional / Life Skills Coach Paid Training | Career Growth | Monday-Friday Day Schedule At Stepping Stone Resources , we support adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in building independence, confidence, communication, safety skills, and meaningful community connection. We are hiring Entry-Level Direct Support Professionals / Life Skills Coaches for an active, hands-on role supporting adults in site-based and community-based adult day program services. No prior experience is required. We provide training, coaching, and certification support. This is a strong fit for someone who is dependable, calm under pressure, comfortable being active throughout the day, and interested in growing a long-term career in human services. Why this role is different This is not a desk job. Our DSPs are moving, coaching, supporting, driving, and helping participants practice real-life skills in the program and in the community.
You may help participants with:
Community outings and safe transportation Social skills and communication Daily living and independence skills Structured activities and classes Behavioral support using company training and supervisor guidance Safe transitions between vehicles, activities, and community locations Building confidence, independence, and real-world life skills Schedule Monday through Friday 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Starting from our Fallbrook location All weekends are optional and not required. Some schedules may vary based on training, meetings, transportation needs, participant schedules, and program assignments. All weekend schedules are optional. Passenger Etiquette classes and community support Some assignments involve supporting participants during community outings and transportation. Candidates should be comfortable driving company vehicles when assigned and authorized.
Applicants must generally have:
A valid California driver's license A safe and acceptable driving record Ability and willingness to drive participants as assigned Ability to comply with company transportation and insurance requirements Passenger Etiquette candidates receive higher rates of pay. Training and development may include:
CPI / Crisis Prevention Intervention training DSP I certification support Hands-on CPR certification support Ongoing professional development Coaching and supervision from experienced team members Opportunities to grow into higher-level responsibilities, assignments, hours, or positions After required training has been completed, additional assignments, hours, leadership opportunities, and higher-level positions may be offered based on business needs, employee availability, performance, qualifications, program needs, and supervisor approval. Employees may also have the opportunity to earn higher pay by taking on approved additional responsibilities, including teaching participant Passenger Etiquette classes. These opportunities may require safe driving, comfort supporting participants in vehicles and community settings, completion of required training, and supervisor approval.
