Glen Park Senior Living is seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to assist our residents in daily living activities, creating a supportive, healthy environment where they can thrive. Bilingual Spanish a PLUS! The Caregiver provides non-medical personal care and supervision to residents in a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE). The role supports residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) while promoting dignity, safety, and independence in compliance with California Title 22 regulations. 1. Personal Care Assistance Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting Provide incontinence care Assist with ambulation, transfers, and mobility devices Support residents with eating and hydration 2. Medication Assistance (per Title 22) Assist with self-administration of medications Document medication assistance accurately Observe and report side effects or medication concerns Follow facility medication policies and physician orders
Note:
Caregivers in RCFEs do not perform skilled nursing tasks unless separately licensed (e.g., LVN/RN). 3. Supervision & Safety Provide continuous supervision as required by resident care plans Monitor for fall risks and behavioral changes Respond promptly to emergencies Follow infection control and safety procedures 4. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate daily care logs Report changes in condition to supervisor or administrator Follow Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines 5. Social & Emotional Support Provide companionship and emotional reassurance Encourage participation in planned activities Support residents' independence and quality of life Minimum Qualifications (California-Specific) High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) CPR and First Aid certification Clear criminal background check (DOJ & FBI Live Scan) TB clearance Skills & Competencies Compassion, patience, and professionalism Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to follow care plans and state regulations Physical stamina and safe lifting techniques Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical Requirements Lift and transfer residents (25-50+ lbs) Stand and walk for extended periods Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach frequently Work Environment Licensed Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) May include evenings, weekends, overnight, and holiday shifts Fast-paced environment requiring multitasking and attention to detail Bilingual Spanish a PLUS!
