Job Description
Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in various care settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient well-being, with experience in home health, assisted living, or long-term care environments. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those you serve by delivering personalized care, ensuring safety, and fostering a respectful and supportive environment. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those experiencing memory care challenges. Responsibilities Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor and observe patients for changes in condition or behavior, documenting observations accurately and promptly. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements while maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards. Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts, vital signs monitors, and other assistive devices safely and effectively. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning patient areas and laundry. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans that meet each individual's unique needs. Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being and social engagement for residents or clients. Follow all safety protocols including CPR and First Aid procedures to respond effectively during emergencies. Support residents in community activities or group home settings, fostering independence and social interaction. Qualifications Prior experience working in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, or hospice care is preferred. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work compassionately with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges. Experience working with individuals with autism or memory impairments is an asset. Basic cooking skills for meal preparation tailored to specific dietary restrictions. Excellent organizational skills for maintaining accurate documentation and care plans.
