WHAT YOU'LL DO

Direct Client Care:

Execute personalized client care plans and document daily activities accurately Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming Provide household assistance such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and home safety monitoring Support clients with personal care, including hygiene, mobility assistance, medication reminders, and companionship Build meaningful, trusting relationships with clients and their families

Lead & On-Call Responsibilities:

Serve as the first point of contact when a caregiver is unable to report for a scheduled shift — respond quickly and either cover the shift personally or coordinate a replacement Be available on-call for urgent shift needs that arise with little notice, ensuring client care is never interrupted Step in to cover shifts across the Redondo Beach service area as needed, including days, evenings, and weekends Assist in orienting and mentoring new caregivers in the field, modeling best practices and Home Matters standards Conduct wellness check-ins with clients and report observations to the office team Communicate proactively with the Executive Director and scheduling team regarding shift coverage, client concerns, and caregiver performance in the field Serve as a trusted resource for caregivers who have questions or need support while on shift

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Must be at least 21 years of age Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience with the senior population, with at least 1 year in a lead, senior, or supervisory capacity preferred Registered California Home Care Aide (HCA) in good standing Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain — we can help) Reliable transportation and a valid California driver's license required — on-call coverage across the Redondo Beach requires the ability to mobilize quickly Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to remain calm and solutions-focused under pressure Dependable, punctual, and professional — clients and colleagues are counting on you Bilingual English/Spanish a strong plus Ability to lift 50 lbs. using safe, ergonomic movements Physically and mentally able to perform hands-on care and operate a vehicle safely

SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY

Minimum 20 hours per week of scheduled office work On-call availability required — you will be designated as the first responder for same-day or urgent shift needs Flexible scheduling across days, evenings, and weekends; we work with your availability to build a consistent base schedule while maintaining on-call readiness

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Pay:
