Caregiving Supervisor (Residential Home for Seniors) The Abigail Redwood City, CA Job Details Full-time $35 - $40 an hour 22 hours ago Benefits Health insurance 401(k) Paid sick time Qualifications Caregiving Working with geriatric patients Working with seniors Assisting with ADLs Patient observation Full Job Description The Abigail, a 24-bed residential care home for seniors (RCFE) in Redwood City, is looking for a Caregiving Supervisor to manage ~15 full-time caregivers providing 24/7 care, as well as work hands-on with residents. This is a full-time, hourly position working on-site Mon-Fri, with a start time around 6am - 7am. On-call nights and weekends for caregiver questions. This Supervisor will directly support ~5-6 residents with dementia, on hospice, behavioral/physical challenges, etc., providing daily living needs including bathing, grooming, dressing, medication passing, etc. This role also supervises and trains a team of ~15 full-time caregivers on direct care needs and support for residents. Responsibilities Provide direct caregiving support to residents including showering, grooming, dressing, medication management, etc. Visually assess changes in resident conditions throughout the shift and take immediate action to adjust care. Supervisor caregivers and coordinate care among the team to support residents' health, safety, dignity, and wellbeing. Evaluate changes in resident's physical, cognitive, or emotional condition and communicate updates to administrator, clinicians, and family members. Oversee med techs to ensure medication is administered as prescribed. Monitor residents for medication effectiveness, side effects, or adverse reactions. Coordinate care needs with physicians, nurses, and therapists. Ensure individualized care plans are followed and updated as resident needs change. Maintain accurate documentation of resident care, observations, and communications. Serve as a primary point of contact for families regarding day-to-day care updates. Supervision Directly supervise and support 12-15 caregivers assigned within the residential home. Provide day-to-day leadership, training, and support to staff. Monitor performance, professionalism, and adherence to care standards. Conduct shift oversight, rounding, and quality assurance checks. Support staffing coordination to ensure appropriate caregiver coverage. Address performance concerns. Assist with caregiver onboarding, training reinforcement, and skill development. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree; or 4+ years of relevant work experience 3+ years of direct caregiving experience in assisted living or senior community. LVN experience a plus. Experience working in home care or senior living facility Bilingual Spanish preferred Must pass LiveScan criminal background check Strong observational skills with the ability to recognize changes in health conditions Good communication skills Lead or supervisor experience preferred Deep desire to serve the senior residents Benefits 401k plan Medical insurance (Kaiser)
