Are you a kind, reliable, and dedicated individual with a passion for helping others? Norris Family Home Care is seeking experienced and compassionate caregivers to provide essential support and companionship to clients in the comfort of their homes in San Diego, California. As a caregiver, you will build meaningful relationships while assisting clients with daily living needs. Responsibilities:
Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting Provide medication reminders and support adherence to care plans (non-medical) Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed Perform light housekeeping tasks, including laundry and maintaining clean living spaces Provide companionship and engage clients in activities (conversation, games, walks) Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning using proper techniques Accompany clients to appointments and run errands as needed Monitor and report changes in client condition to supervisors or family members Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment Complete daily care notes and required documentation Qualifications (Required): Minimum of 1-3 years of professional caregiving experience High school diploma or equivalent Active California Home Care Aide (HCA) registration, or willingness to obtain prior to start date CPR and First Aid Certification Ability to pass a background check and comply with California state regulations Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others Ability to follow care plans and instructions accurately Physical ability to assist with lifting, transfers, and extended periods of standing
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, or senior care Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Training Requirements:
Completion of 5 hours of initial training through Care Academy (or equivalent program) Completion of 5 hours of annual refresher training
Compensation & Benefits:
Pay:
