Description:

The Direct Support Staff's primary job function is the direct supervision and special services to consumers. Direct Support Staff will provide care, supervision, training, and support to promote the consumers functioning in the areas of self-care, daily living skills, physical coordination, mobility, behavioral self-control, personal choice, community integration, accessing community resources, and participating in leisure time activities. Additionally, Direct Support Staff will provide specialized training, treatment, and/or supervision required by the consumers' Individual Program Plan. The employee is also required to assist in maintaining a clean household environment and provide basic office management duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent One (1) year experience preferred supporting adults with developmental disabilities First Aid/CPR Certification Health Screening Report, including TB clearance Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Able to read/write English well enough to read and document in consumers' record Must be at least 21 years of age, possess valid CA driver's license, and maintain current automobile liability insurance (5 years of continuous driving experience, no more than 3 points on driving record, and no

DUI Description of Duties:

Provide supervision of Consumers in accordance with program plan and manager direction Assist consumers with personal care (bathroom needs, changing clients' undergarments and/or clothing) Assist consumers, as needed, to perform activities of daily living Assist to prepare menus and meals to meet consumers' needs Schedule and provide shopping trips with consumers to obtain household and/or personal supplies Provide documentation in consumer record according to California regulations and Regional Center guidelines Maintain a clean household environment (typical household chores such as laundry, cooking, cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, etc.) Attend staff meetings/training as required Immediately report all unusual incidents to supervisor Provide all services within state rules, regulations, and guidelines Other duties as assigned
