This role involves providing essential medication administration and personal care to residents in long-term care, assisted living, or memory care settings. The ideal candidate will have experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring specialized dementia and Alzheimer's care. The Qualified Medication Aide plays a vital role in supporting residents' health, safety, and well-being through attentive caregiving and medication management. Duties Administer prescribed medications accurately following all safety protocols and EMR systems Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature Support residents with dementia or memory care needs through behavioral management techniques Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed Utilize assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts to ensure safe transfers and mobility support Document care activities thoroughly in resident records and EMR systems Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a respectful and caring environment Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas to promote a healthy living environment Follow all safety procedures including first aid protocols and infection control measures Qualifications Valid certification as a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) Experience in long-term care, nursing homes, assisted living, or home & community care preferred Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia management, and behavioral support techniques Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation purposes Ability to work effectively with seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those with complex health needs Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work compassionately with residents and team members Experience operating Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices is a plus Valid driver's license for driving residents if required by the facility CPR/First Aid certification is preferred but may be provided upon hire This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents while working within a supportive healthcare environment.
