Starting at $19.38 per hour, with a hiring range of $19.38 - $24.00 per hour based on experience, skills, and qualifications. About Luvin Arms Animal Sanctuary Luvin Arms Animal Sanctuary provides lifelong care to rescued farmed animals while fostering compassion, connection, and education within our community. Located in Erie, Colorado, the sanctuary is home to cows, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, ducks, and other residents who have been given a second chance to live safe, meaningful lives. Position Summary The Farmed Animal Caregiver plays a vital role in the daily care and well-being of sanctuary residents. This position is responsible for feeding, cleaning, health monitoring, enrichment, and supporting veterinary care. Successful candidates are dependable, observant, physically capable, and committed to providing compassionate care to animals with a wide range of needs. This position may be filled at various experience levels, from entry-level caregivers seeking to grow their skills to highly experienced caregivers capable of handling more advanced resident care responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Feed residents and administer prescribed medications as directed. Clean and maintain barns, shelters, pastures, and resident living spaces. Observe residents daily and report changes in health, behavior, or mobility. Assist with health checks, treatments, veterinary visits, and resident transport. Participate in hoof and nail care, grooming, enrichment, and cooperative care activities. Maintain accurate records related to resident care and treatments. Follow sanctuary safety protocols and biosecurity procedures. Assist during resident emergencies and support implementation of emergency protocols. Support volunteers, interns, and visitors in a professional and respectful manner. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work. Strong observational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to Luvin Arms Animal Sanctuary's mission, values, and policies. Preferred Previous experience working with farmed animals, companion animals, wildlife, or in a sanctuary, shelter, veterinary, agricultural, or animal care setting. Post-secondary education in animal science, veterinary studies, biology, agriculture, or a related field. Experience administering medications and assisting with animal health care.
