Respite Care Provider

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Respite Care Provider to offer temporary relief and support to a 29 year old male with developmental disabilities, and autism. Your energetic approach will help create a positive environment for the client and his family while ensuring all care activities adhere to safety standards and privacy regulations. Participant is physically healthy, and prefers an active lifestyle. You are expected to transport him to nearby parks and facilities for recreation. Participant comes home at lunchtime, and parents prepare his lunch.

Must have the following:

• Drivers license, own transportation and good driving record
• First Aid certification
• (optional) CPR certification
• Clean background check
• Experience working with special needs population
• High School diploma Duties The Respite Provider delivers short-term direct care and supervision to the participant in his home and community setting.

This role helps provide relief for parents, guardians, and family caregivers while ensuring the participant receives safe, supportive, and engaging care that meets their emotional, physical, and health-related needs. Emphasis is on the community setting, with activities such as walking and playing in the park, playing basketball, and swimming (we have a swim instructor lined up, you will take him to swim lessons and help him get dressed.)

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct care and supervision based on participant needs and caregiver instructions Assist with activities of daily living and in-home support as needed Observe participant health and safety needs and respond appropriately Supervise and engage participants in community and home-based activities Request or provide emergency assistance when necessary (participant has seizure disorder currently controlled by medication) Complete PASCO trainings (including CPR training if not already certified) Maintain compliance with agency, state, and federal requirements Position is for Fridays, hours are 9:00am-5:00pm with paid lunchtime.
