Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated PCA (Personal Care Assistant) caregiver to provide exceptional support to residents in a community-based setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care, home health, and assisting individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments. As a PCA caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing residents' quality of life by delivering personalized care, ensuring safety, and fostering a respectful and supportive environment. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve through attentive and professional caregiving. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor residents' health status by observing vital signs, patient behavior, and overall well-being, reporting any concerns promptly. Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, including special diets such as dementia or Alzheimer's care. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene within residents' living spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation practices. Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs safely during transfers and mobility assistance. Document care activities accurately while adhering to privacy standards; collaborate with healthcare professionals on care plans. Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being and social engagement for residents with developmental disabilities or memory impairments. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and basic nursing skills. Experience with Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, or memory care is preferred. Familiarity with home & community care environments and long-term care practices. Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional training in hospice or hospice care is advantageous. Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information. Proven ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental challenges. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents during transfers or mobility activities. Pay:
$17.50 per hour
