Butler Rescue Hands, Inc. Butler Rescue Hands, Inc. is currently seeking experienced and dedicated professionals to provide Individualized Day Supports (IDS) for individuals receiving services through the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services (DDS) at the Lower Fairfield Regional Center in Norwalk, CT. These individuals require 1:1 support due to PICA, medical needs, and other health and safety concerns. We are seeking staff who are vigilant, compassionate, dependable, and experienced in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Position Responsibilities Provide direct 1:1 support in community and program settings Ensure the safety, well-being, and supervision of the individual at all times Monitor and appropriately address PICA-related behaviors and safety risks Support community engagement, recreational activities, and skill development Follow all DDS regulations, behavior support plans, and medical protocols Complete, accurate, and timely documentation Maintain professional communication with the agency, families, and interdisciplinary teams Promote dignity, independence, and person-centered supports Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation Clean criminal background check Current CPR/First Aid Certification Current PMT (Prevention and Management Training) Certification Previous DDS experience Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities Ability to safely support individuals with PICA and complex medical or behavioral needs Preferred Qualifications Autism training and experience a MUST Medication Administration Certification ( A Plus, but not required) Experience with high-needs 1:1 supports Strong documentation and communication skills Qualified candidates who meet the required certifications and DDS experience are encouraged to apply.
Pay:
$21.00 - $22.50 per hour
