Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Scheduling Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the scheduling of appointments and ensuring seamless communication between patients and healthcare providers. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent clerical skills, and experience with various electronic health record (EHR) systems. Duties Coordinate and manage patient appointments, ensuring optimal scheduling for both patients and providers. Utilize EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, and Dentrix to maintain accurate patient records. Conduct insurance verification and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including care plans and medical records. Provide exceptional patient service through effective communication and phone etiquette while managing multi-line phone systems. Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding. Maintain organized filing systems for patient records and administrative documents. Collaborate with clinical staff to streamline office management processes. Support front desk operations by greeting patients and handling intake procedures. Experience Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, health information management, and dental terminology is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong computer skills are essential. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply as it enhances patient communication. Experience with medical administrative support roles that involve clerical duties such as typing (10 key typing) is beneficial. Knowledge of medical scheduling practices and customer service excellence is required.
