Job Description

We are looking for a smart and compassionate person to assist our mother. She is a retired professor and writer with a great sense of humor. She requires help at home because she has mobility issues. We are looking for someone who can provide companionship, some assistance with activities of daily life, simple meal preparation, and medication reminders. We are open to creative approaches to this position: A couple rather than a single person. A live-out position if you are willing to stay over a few nights a week. A "snow-bird" arrangement. If our mother is able to travel, it would be ideal if she could spend the summer in Connecticut to get away from the Florida heat. (We would arrange for your lodgings in Connecticut.) As a caregiver/companion in her home, you would have a private room and bath in a separate part of the house. There will be additional helpers to cover shifts so that you can have designated personal time. The setting is a pretty house full of books and musical instruments. There is lots of space to sit outside and take a walk. My mother has friends who will come by, especially if there's a companion there to encourage her to invite them over.
