HHA / Companion ASZ Caring Hearts Inc. - 4.1 Cooper City, FL Job Details Part-time $15 - $16 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Uniform allowance Qualifications CPR Certification Hospice experience BLS Certification HIPAA Patient progress monitoring CNA Patient observation Full Job Description Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private residences. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to enhancing clients' well-being, comfort, and independence through attentive caregiving, personal support, and compassionate companionship. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse healthcare needs, including those living with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, developmental disabilities, and those receiving hospice care. All positions are paid and require a professional, respectful, and client-focused approach to care. Client Information The current client is a 20-year-old individual with autism who is seeking a compassionate companion to provide support, engagement, and assistance with daily activities as needed. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Administer medications following prescribed instructions while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral management techniques. Support patients with catheter care, wound dressing changes, hospice needs, and other complex medical procedures under supervision or as trained. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and assist with meal planning and preparation to promote health and well-being. Maintain a clean, safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams using EMR/EHR systems to document patient progress and communicate vital information clearly. Qualifications Valid CNA certification or HHA certification with current licensing as required by state regulations. Prior experience working in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home health agencies, or with individuals who have developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to patient care procedures and conditions, such as dementia, hospice needs, and long-term care requirements. Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or hospice care training are a plus. Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation accurately and respond promptly to changing conditions. Compassionate demeanor with excellent communication skills; ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
