Green Acres, FL Job Details Part-time | Full-time $16 - $17 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications CPR Certification Assisting with ADLs High school diploma or GED Driver's License First Aid Certification Full Job Description Direct Support Professional (DSP) Peoples Family Homes Position Summary Peoples Family Homes is seeking compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. DSPs play a vital role in helping residents achieve greater independence, maintain their health and safety, and participate actively in their communities. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day by promoting dignity, choice, and personal growth in a supportive home environment. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPersonal Care & Daily Living Support Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility. Provide support with transfers and mobility equipment, when required. Encourage independence while providing appropriate supervision and assistance. Health & Medication Support Administer medications according to physician orders and company policies. Monitor and document vital signs and changes in residents' physical or emotional condition. Report concerns promptly to supervisors and healthcare professionals. Community & Social Support Assist residents with community outings, recreational activities, appointments, and social events. Transport residents safely using company or approved personal vehicles when required. Promote community inclusion and meaningful engagement. Household Responsibilities Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment. Assist residents with laundry, housekeeping, and other household tasks. Documentation & Communication Complete accurate daily documentation and progress notes using electronic or paper record systems. Communicate effectively with supervisors, healthcare providers, guardians, and family members. Follow all APD, Medicaid Waiver, and company policies and procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, or in a caregiving setting preferred. Current CPR and First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain). Medication Administration certification preferred. Valid Florida driver's license with acceptable driving record. Ability to pass Level II Background Screening. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Schedule Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available Day, Evening, Overnight, Weekend, and Holiday shifts may be required.
