Job Description

Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Care Staff member, where your compassionate support and active engagement make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care, assist with daily activities, and promote independence within a safe and nurturing environment. Your energy and commitment will help foster a positive atmosphere that encourages growth, dignity, and well-being for all residents. This position offers an opportunity to work in various settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home and community care environments. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Administer medications following prescribed protocols and maintain accurate medication records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to ensure residents' health status is consistently tracked Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease by implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition while maintaining a clean dining environment Engage residents through social activities, recreational programs, and meaningful interactions to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control procedures, cleaning protocols, and safety regulations within personal care homes or retirement communities Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory care techniques Experience with medication administration and vital signs monitoring in long-term or home & community care settings Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and reporting purposes Proven ability to handle emergency situations with first aid skills and calm decision-making Background in caregiving roles involving behavioral management or working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous Valid driver's license for driving residents when required for appointments or outings Join us to make a positive impact every day!
