Full Job Description Caregiver Description of Position:
Provides direct personal care and supervision to the residents at the community. Promotes resident wellbeing and satisfaction through support with activities of daily living. Communicates with other departments to ensure resident needs are met.
Staffing Pattern:
The Wellness department at Ambiance will staff caregivers in sufficient quantity to ensure that care is provided to meet the resident needs. Each Caregiver will be charged with all the personal care duties, assist with meals as needed, laundry or basic housekeeping as required for their resident assignment and document such care as required. Ambiance at Maitland promotes consistent staffing whenever possible. This includes assigning or scheduling same staff to the same resident group of residents whenever possible. We believe this assignment practice is beneficial in caring for those in a memory support community. Responsibilities of the
Caregiver:
Assist with activities of daily living, following community protocol, licensing regulation and guidelines for both resident and employee safety. Follow safety guidelines in the community, including proper lifting technique and universal precautions when providing care to the residents. Follow the schedule of duties for the Caregiver, as well as the individual plan of care for each resident. Function as a team, assisting coworkers as the need arises. Monitor resident activity, food intake, functional status, psychosocial status, as required to promote resident well-being and in compliance with policy and procedures and state regulations. Report status change of conditions to the immediately to the supervisor. Act immediately on any resident crisis, following protocol and basic first aid training. Document resident status change, including but not limited to, physical change, reaction to medication, psychosocial status change. In the event all assigned duties cannot be completed, ask for assistance and report to the wellness director. Any other assignments made by your direct supervisor or ED Promote open communication between health care professionals, families, residents, and staff. Adhere to guidelines in the employee handbook including dress code, conduct, scheduling, etc. Other duties as assigned.
