Position Overview We are seeking a caring, dependable, and motivated Direct Care Professional to join our Melbourne Group Home team. This position provides direct support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. The ideal candidate is compassionate, patient, reliable, and committed to helping others achieve their personal goals and maintain independence. As a Direct Care Professional, you will assist residents with daily living activities, promote community involvement, encourage skill development, and help maintain a safe and positive home environment. Essential Responsibilities Provide supervision and support to adults with developmental disabilities Assist residents with activities of daily living, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal care as needed Implement support plans using positive behavior support strategies and redirection techniques Encourage independence, self-care skills, and personal growth Assist with meal preparation, household chores, and daily routines Administer medications in accordance with agency policies and physician orders Support residents during recreational activities, appointments, and community outings Maintain accurate documentation, daily logs, and required records Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment Advocate for residents' rights, choices, and personal goals Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Reliable transportation Ability to pass a Level II Background Screening Minimum of one year of experience in healthcare, behavioral health, childcare, education, nursing, direct care, or disability services preferred OR Completion of at least 30 semester hours of college, vocational, or technical training Why Join Gillespie Services?
