As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide hands-on assistance with daily living activities, personal care, community participation, and skill development while promoting dignity, respect, and person-centered care. Responsibilities Provide assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene. Prepare nutritious meals and assist clients with healthy eating habits. Accompany clients to medical appointments, community outings, recreational activities, and other scheduled events. Encourage independence by teaching and reinforcing life skills such as cooking, cleaning, and organization. Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a clean and safe home environment. Provide companionship and emotional support while encouraging social interaction and community inclusion. Accurately document services provided, daily activities, progress toward goals, and any incidents or concerns. Follow individualized support plans while maintaining client confidentiality and dignity. communicate effectively with supervisors, family members, and healthcare professionals as needed.
Requirements:
Highschool diploma or GED required. At least 1 year of previous experience working with individuals with disabilities, seniors, or in a caregiving role. Compassionate, patient, dependable, and professional. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lift, transfer, bend, and assist clients with mobility when needed. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance. Ability to pass a Level II background screening and any required drug screening. Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification. Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Pay:
