Job Description

Caregiver - Behavioral Group Home (Supporting Individuals with Disabilities)Our Mission We believe every person deserves dignity, respect, and the opportunity to live a fulfilling life—no matter their challenges. Our behavioral group home is a safe, supportive environment where individuals with disabilities can grow, learn, and thrive. We are committed to person-centered care, fostering independence, and creating a home where compassion and empowerment are at the heart of everything we do. The Impact You'll Make As a Caregiver in our behavioral group home, you will be more than a helping hand—you will be a trusted guide, advocate, and source of encouragement. Your daily work will directly shape the quality of life for residents, helping them build skills, achieve personal goals, and navigate challenges with confidence. You'll be part of a team that celebrates small victories and stands strong through difficult moments. What You'll Do Provide daily living assistance, including personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, and medication reminders. Support residents in developing life skills—such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and social interaction—to promote independence. Implement individualized behavior support plans, using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques. Accompany residents to appointments, community activities, and recreational outings. Maintain accurate documentation of care, behaviors, and progress in accordance with state and agency guidelines. Collaborate with behavioral specialists, nurses, and family members to ensure holistic, person-centered care. Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive home environment where residents feel valued and heard. What You'll Bring Experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in a behavioral or residential setting. Knowledge of behavior management strategies and crisis intervention techniques (CPI certification a plus). Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit. Ability to follow care plans and adapt to residents' changing needs. High school diploma or equivalent (additional training or certifications in human services preferred). Valid driver's license and clean driving record (for transporting residents). Why You'll Love It Here A supportive, team-oriented environment where your work truly matters. Paid training in behavioral support and crisis intervention. Opportunities for career growth in human services and healthcare. Flexible scheduling options to support work-life balance. Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance (for eligible employees). Employee recognition programs that celebrate your dedication and impact. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. We believe diversity strengthens our team and enriches the care we provide. Join Us If you have a heart for service and a passion for helping others live their best lives, we'd love to meet you. Send us your resume and a short note about why this work inspires you. Together, we can make every day a step toward independence and joy for our residents. If you'd like, I can also create a shorter, job-board-friendly version of this description that's optimized for attracting applicants quickly while keeping the warmth and empathy intact. Would you like me to prepare that next?
