Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Overnight Caregivers to provide exceptional support and care during nighttime hours. In this vital role, you will ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents or clients in a variety of settings, including assisted living facilities, group homes, and home care environments. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a secure and nurturing environment for individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or requiring hospice and memory care. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while working in a dynamic, team-oriented atmosphere. Duties Monitor residents' vital signs, medication schedules, and overall health status throughout the night to ensure safety and well-being Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, maintaining dignity and respect for each individual Conduct thorough patient observations to detect changes in condition or behavior, reporting findings promptly to supervisory staff Prepare nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with care plans and dietary restrictions Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning common areas, and sanitizing equipment Operate specialized equipment including Hoyer lifts and resident transfer devices safely and effectively Follow all HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times Document care activities accurately in electronic health records or paper logs, including medication administration, vital signs, and incident reports Provide emotional support and companionship to residents during overnight hours to promote comfort and mental well-being Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, memory care techniques, and hospice care practices is advantageous Experience with patient observation, monitoring vital signs, medication administration, and assisting with ADLs is essential Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards ensures confidentiality in all aspects of patient care Hands-on experience using Hoyer lifts, resident transfer equipment, or working with individuals with disabilities enhances your effectiveness in this role Previous roles involving social work or long-term caregiving foster a compassionate approach to resident support Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as group home experience or nursing assistant training are a plus Join our team as an Overnight Caregiver if you are passionate about providing high-quality care during the night shift!
