JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking dependable, compassionate, and professional Direct Care Providers to join our team in Tallahassee, Florida. Our small, state-licensed, therapy-based group homes provide care and support for individuals with special needs in a structured, supportive, and home-like environment. We are looking for individuals who are responsible, trustworthy, patient-focused, and committed to helping others while maintaining high standards of care, professionalism, safety, and teamwork.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide daily care, supervision, and support for multiple residents Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, hygiene, and meals Maintain resident safety while responding appropriately to behavioral, emotional, or crisis situations Assist with implementing individualized behavior support plans and goal programs Support the development of life, social, behavioral, and communication skills Administer and document medications as trained and authorized Maintain accurate daily documentation and records Transport residents to appointments, recreational activities, and community outings as needed Work closely with the other team members to ensure consistent quality care Maintain a clean, organized, and safe home-like environment Prepare meals and assist with housekeeping responsibilities Any other tasks necessary for excellent consumer care and care environments Available Shifts Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday from 7 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday from 2:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. Friday and/or Saturday from 2:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Flexible rotating holiday shift availability mandatory Overnight shifts on other days and/or optional daytime coverage may also become available Staff will be hired based on stated availability Open availability is preferred Staff will be assigned shifts based on homes' needs
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent Eligible to work in the United States One year of experience working in group home, healthcare, behavioral health, psychiatric care, nursing homes, child care, or with individuals with developmental disabilities (or comparable education credits) Ability to speak, read, write, and type English fluently Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Active vehicle registration and automobile insurance Ability to pass FDLE, local law enforcement, background, and drug screenings Intermediate computer proficiency Ability to work with multiple individuals with special needs simultaneously Ability to maintain professionalism, patience, and reliability in a changing care environment Ability to work regular weekend shifts and rotating holiday shifts Ability to work overnight shifts Ability to work at multiple locations as assigned Flexible availability and scheduling adaptability, including availability for regular or rotating 18-hour to 24-hour shifts Ability to lift at least 30 pounds and perform physical job duties including walking, bending, squatting, grasping, regular standing, and assisting residents as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively, with or without correction
PREFERRED SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
Active CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens (HIV/AIDS) certification preferred Active Medication Administration & Validation certifications preferred Open and flexible availability, including occasional weekday availability preferred
