Personal Assistant Caregiver

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant Caregiver to provide comprehensive support to individuals requiring assistance with daily activities and personal care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care, home health, or long-term care environments, demonstrating exceptional patience, empathy, and attention to detail. This role involves assisting clients with their personal needs, ensuring their safety and comfort while promoting independence and well-being. The successful applicant will be committed to delivering high-quality care in accordance with care plans and regulatory standards. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor and record vital signs, patient observations, and changes in health status to inform care planning. Provide medication reminders accurately following prescribed instructions while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support clients with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met and dietary restrictions are followed. Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers safely to prevent injury. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks and adhering to infection control protocols. Observe clients for signs of dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other cognitive impairments, implementing memory care strategies as needed. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and update personalized care plans tailored to each resident's needs. Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a positive living environment for residents. Ensure compliance with all safety standards including CPR and first aid procedures during emergencies. Experience Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care settings is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and dementia or Alzheimer's care is essential. Proven ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders. Experience utilizing care plans and medication administration protocols within regulated environments. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of patient information. Hands-on experience operating medical lifts such as Hoyer lifts and performing heavy lifting when necessary. Strong background in providing compassionate direct support and long-term caregiving services across diverse populations. Knowledge of infection control practices, vital signs measurement, and basic nursing procedures is preferred.
