Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through direct support and care. This role requires a blend of personal care skills, behavioral management techniques, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration. Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and minimize challenging behaviors. Provide direct support in social and recreational activities to encourage community engagement. Lift and transfer clients as necessary while ensuring their safety and comfort. Maintain accurate records of client progress and any incidents that occur during shifts. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to develop individualized care plans. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the home community care environment. Experience Previous experience in a group home or similar setting is preferred. Knowledge of first aid practices is a plus. Familiarity with systems for managing medication administration is beneficial. Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Background in social work or related fields can enhance your candidacy.
