Job Description
Overview Job Overview - Direct Support Care (Youth Group Home) Universal of Love Care LLC is seeking dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Care staff to provide supervision and daily support to up to six youth in a residential group home setting. Staff will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment while assisting youth with daily living activities, behavior management, and personal development. The ideal candidate is dependable, attentive, and committed to providing quality care in alignment with Georgia Residential Child Care Licensing (RCCL) standards. Direct Support Care staff are responsible for active supervision at all times, ensuring the safety, well-being, and stability of all youth in the home. Must be at least 21 years of age High school diploma or GED required Experience working with youth in a residential, group home, or similar setting preferred Ability to pass criminal background check and fingerprinting through Georgia DHS Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if transporting youth) Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification Ability to complete all required RCCL pre-service and ongoing training Strong understanding of supervision, safety, and behavior management Ability to remain awake, alert, and actively supervising youth for the entire shift Good written and verbal communication skills (documentation required) Ability to follow policies, procedures, and RCCL guidelines Physically able to stand, walk, and respond quickly in emergency situations Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and appropriate boundaries This role requires strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to respond effectively to the needs of youth in a residential setting. Skills - Direct Support Care (Youth Group Home) Active supervision and strong attention to detail Ability to maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment Knowledge of behavior management and de-escalation techniques Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build positive, professional relationships with youth Crisis intervention and problem-solving skills Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure Teamwork and collaboration with staff and leadership Time management and ability to follow schedules and routines Documentation and report writing skills Understanding of boundaries and professional conduct Ability to follow policies, procedures, and RCCL guidelines Dependability, accountability, and strong work ethic Observation skills to identify changes in behavior or needs Ability to assist with daily living activities (ADLs) Duties - Direct Support Care (Youth Group Home) Provide active supervision at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of all youth Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive living environment Assist youth with daily living activities (ADLs) including hygiene, grooming, and routines Implement and follow individual service plans, behavior plans, and house rules Use appropriate behavior management and de-escalation techniques Monitor youth behavior and report any incidents, concerns, or changes Complete daily documentation, logs, and incident reports in compliance with RCCL guidelines Ensure compliance with Georgia
DHS/RCCL
policies and procedures Supervise and participate in daily routines, meals, chores, and activities Transport youth to appointments, school, and approved activities (if required) Maintain professional boundaries and appropriate staff-youth interactions Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors Respond appropriately to emergencies and crisis situations Ensure the home remains clean, organized, and inspection-ready at all times Administer and document medications as trained and authorized Attend required trainings and staff meetings Join us in creating a supportive environment where compassion meets professionalism.
