Job Description

Job Summary Join our compassionate team as a Personal Care Aide, where your dedication and caring nature will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals needing support with daily activities and personal well-being. In this vital role, you will provide personalized assistance, promote independence, and ensure a safe, comfortable environment for residents in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help foster a nurturing atmosphere that encourages dignity and respect for all. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; report changes to healthcare professionals Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans established by nursing staff Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet individual dietary needs and preferences Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and sanitation practices in residents' rooms and common areas Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance Observe and document patient conditions, behaviors, and progress accurately to inform ongoing care strategies Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering social interaction and mental well-being Collaborate with healthcare teams to implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs Support residents with specialized care requirements such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental disabilities Skills Proven experience in group home settings, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs effectively Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information Strong skills in assisting with ADLs and providing comprehensive patient care with compassion and professionalism Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Excellent communication skills for working collaboratively with healthcare teams, residents, and families Experience in administering medications accurately following prescribed care plans Knowledge of CPR and First Aid certification to respond promptly during emergencies Ability to work with individuals with disabilities or special needs such as dementia or autism spectrum disorder Competence in maintaining cleanliness through cleaning routines aligned with health standards Understanding of hospice care principles for supporting end-of-life needs when applicable Join us in creating a positive impact through dedicated caregiving!
