Direct Care Worker

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Youth Worker to support and empower young individuals, particularly those with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in caregiving and social work, demonstrating the ability to engage effectively with youth in various settings. This role involves providing assistance, guidance, and support to help youth develop essential life skills while ensuring their safety and well-being. Responsibilities Provide direct support to youth with developmental disabilities in both individual and group settings. Assist in the development and implementation of personalized care plans tailored to each youth's needs. Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages social interaction and personal growth. Utilize conflict management skills to resolve issues that may arise among youth participants. Maintain accurate documentation of interactions, progress, and any incidents according to HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs and assist with basic medical needs as required, ensuring adherence to medical terminology standards. Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to promote the well-being of youth. Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills related to caregiving and social work. Experience Previous experience in caregiving or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Familiarity with childcare practices and assisting youth in various activities is beneficial. Knowledge of medical terminology and experience monitoring vital signs is a plus. Strong conflict management skills and the ability to maintain composure in challenging situations are essential. A background in social work or related fields will be advantageous for this role.
