Job Description

Needing coverage 5p-9a Monday - Sunday as well as a 9a -5p two days a week. These hours will be split between three people.

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Overnight Caregiver to provide high-quality care and support to residents during overnight hours in a residential or community-based setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior and disability care, with expertise in patient observation, medication administration, and assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs). This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring long-term care, memory support, or specialized assistance such as Alzheimer's or dementia care. The Overnight Caregiver will ensure safety, comfort, and well-being through attentive monitoring and compassionate support. Responsibilities Monitor residents' health status by observing vital signs, patient behavior, and overall condition throughout the overnight shift. Assist residents with ADLs including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using appropriate techniques such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Administer medications accurately following care plans while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a safe and comforting environment during overnight hours. Respond promptly to emergency situations or changes in residents' conditions by following established protocols such as CPR or first aid procedures. Maintain cleanliness of resident living areas and common spaces by performing light cleaning and sanitation tasks aligned with health standards. Document all observations, interventions, and care provided meticulously in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive resident care plans are followed effectively. Skills Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing home environments, or group homes with a focus on senior or disability care. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques including vital signs assessment and dementia or Alzheimer's disease-specific needs such as memory care strategies. Ability to assist with ADLs using proper lifting techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts; capable of heavy lifting when required. Familiarity with medication administration procedures while adhering to HIPAA privacy standards. Strong observational skills to detect changes in residents' health or behavior promptly. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents, team members, and families. Basic life support certifications such as CPR and first aid; additional training in hospice or palliative care is advantageous. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is preferred; knowledge of care plans tailored to individual needs is essential.
