  • Full-time Our Hale Mahaolu creates and manages vibrant, quality, affordable rental communities and provides supportive programs and services for seniors, families, and individuals.
We are searching for a leader who cares for people and is motivated to fulfill the needs of our community. The Personal Care Program Director administers home and community-based services for its Kupuna Care (in-home care), Medicaid (in-home care), and Personal Care Subsidy programs (subsidy of direct hire of in-home care). The Program Director oversees the delivery of services such as Personal Care (e.g. assisting client with bathing, dressing), Homemaker (cleaning of client living space) and In-Home Respite (family caregiver support)services provided to qualified Maui County residents. The Program supports its clients to remain in their own home and community for as long as possible and be able to maintain or improve their quality of life, independence, and dignity. The Director's role is to manage day-to-day operations, including two part-time office staff and up to 20 hourly caregivers who ensure clients' needs are fulfilled. The position requires effective management of the program's budget, tracking and reporting of expenditures, and oversight of payroll for staff and aides. Previous experience in applying for state, county, and other grant sources is very helpful. Event-planning (e.g. end-of-year recognition functions) is also useful. This position is a full-time salaried position with a Monday through Friday schedule. Occasional weekend work may be necessary. A college degree or equivalent experience is required along with at least 3 years of supervisory experience. Must possess or be able to complete a Certified Nurse's Aide (CNA) course. Must possess a valid Hawaii driver's license and have a personal car to conduct home visits. There will be occasional off island travel.
